South Bend, Washington – The National Weather Service in Portland Oregon was tracking a strong thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado as it progressed through parts of southern Pacific County and through Naselle. A tornado warning was issued at 4:26 a.m. The storm weakened and passed through the area, and the warning has been cancelled.
This warning was part of a very active weather pattern that will continue over through Saturday. PCEMA staff and other officials will be taking part in a briefing/webinar with the National Weather Service at noon today. Additional news and information will be posted after the briefing or sooner if necessary.
When a tornado warning is issued: Take cover, move to a basement or an interior room in a sturdy building. If you are in a mobile home or outdoors move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
