South Bend, Washington – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Portland issued a hazardous weather outlook for portions of northwest Oregon and southwest Washington for the holiday weekend. A deep low pressure system approaches the coast Sunday as it heads toward Vancouver Island. Strong winds are possible on coastal areas Sunday afternoon and evening potentially bringing wind gusts in excess of 70 mph. The predictions made by the NWS have been made well in advance of the storm and will continue to change throughout the weekend.
