NOAA Weather Radio

NOAA Weather Radio broadcasts official watches, warnings, hazard information, and routine forecast and weather reports.

Frequency: 162.400 MHz or Channel 1 | Station ID: KEC-91

The transmitter is located on Naselle Ridge. Repeater transmitters are at Cape Mears, Neahkahnie Mountain, and Mt. Hebo. Typically, the range is 40 miles but can be more or less depending on the local terrain. The map to the right shows the areas the broadcast covers.

The KEC-91 broadcasts serve weather warnings for Clatsop, Columbia, Tillamook counties in Oregon and Grays Harbor, Pacific, and Wahkiakum counties in Washington. Routine programming covers a much wider area.

Specific Area Message Encoding (SAME) is a digital system used to activate specially equipped radios. If you have a SAME-capable weather radio you can elect to receive alarms only for the counties you select.
