South Bend, Washington – The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning in effect from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday December 8, 2016, for the south Washington coast and Willapa Hills.
A mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected to begin after sunrise Thursday and continue through the evening hours. The bulk of the precipitation will be freezing rain. Snow and sleet accumulations are expected to be light with an inch of snow possible in Pacific County. Ice accumulations of ¼ inch are possible as well. Travel will be difficult as roads become icy. Power disruptions are possible.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions:
A winter storm warning means that significant amounts of snow, sleet, and ice are possible. Strong winds are also possible. This storm will make travel very hazardous or impossible. Use extreme care to ensure generators are used only in well ventilated areas or outdoors.
